Laser Hair Removal Tips

Posted by on 1:52 pm in Featured | 0 comments

Most people think that laser hair removal is magic. While your hair will magically disappear over time, it’s not as simple as your fairy godmother waving a wand and being done with it. Depending on your skin type, amount of hair, quality of laser and the thickness of it will determine how quickly and effectively your hair is removed. Below, we have outlined some tips to get the best possible laser hair removal results. Get a consultation first Laser hair removal is more or less effective depending on your skin and hair type. Going in for a complimentary consultation will help plan out your treatments and see how many you need. Some people have quicker results than others while some people may take longer. Don’t worry, you won’t have to leave and come back. You can get same day treatment as your consultation right then and there. Avoid tanning Tanning is not a good idea when going in for laser hair removal as it can cause blistering or burns. The best time to get laser hair removal is during the winter. If you’re coming off a long summer of tanning and swimming, it’s best to wait several weeks to go in for your first treatment. Let your skin treatment return back to normal before going in for treatment and you’ll stay safer and have much better results. Don’t pluck your hair Plucking your hair removes the roots. Lasers target the roots of the hair. If you pluck your hair, then there will be nothing for the roots to attack. So, avoid tweezing your eye brows and let it all grow out before going in. This will ensure all the hair follicles are targeted. Shave the day before When going in for a consultation, it’s best not to shave at first. This way the technician can see where all the hair is. All of us have different hair growth patterns. When you finally go in to get treated, shave the areas you’re getting treated. Unless it’s located in hard to reach places, ask your significant Avoid caffeine It’s best to be as relaxed as possible when going in for laser hair removal. While it doesn’t really hurt to get your hair removed, it can be more or less comfortable depending on the person getting it and the amount of hair. There are certain areas on the skin that are more sensitive than others. Wash your skin Make sure you shower and remove any makeup, dirt, lotion or oil from your skin before going in. This will help the laser remove the hair more efficiently. If you have too much dirt or makeup in an area that has hair, it can prevent the area from getting lasered effectively. Lasers matter The type of laser is important for the best hair removal results. We only offer the most powerful lasers such as the Picosure that are safer and take fewer treatments to get done. Post Laser Hair Removal tips Avoid the sun Just like you should avoid the sun going in, you should also avoid it after you’ve been treated. Your skin will be extra sensitive post treatment for up to several weeks. Again, always better to wait for a time when you won’t be in the sun too much. Why miss out...

Denver’s Tattoo Undo Laser Removal – Safety instructions

Need to remove a tattoo? Learn more about how the treatment process works A January 2012 study by Harris Interactive shows that 1 in 7 of the 21% American adults who have a tattoo regret getting one. If you are one of the growing numbers of people that is turning to laser tattoo removal to eliminate unwanted tattoos, you should be clearly informed about the process before stepping into the clinic. Not because you should be afraid of anything, but because the more you know the more prepared you will be and know what to expect (and what NOT to expect!).  Before & after care instructions Before you come in for your scheduled treatment remember the following: Your tattoo must be at least six weeks old before the laser removal. If you have had a previous removal treatment, you need to wait 6-8 weeks before we can treat the area again. Do not expose the tattooed area to direct sunlight. Also avoid tanning beds, self- tanning creams and spray tans for three weeks prior to your appointment. If there’s no way for your Tattoo to avoid being in the sun, use sunscreen with SPF50 or higher for 3 weeks prior to being treated.  It is even better if you can keep your tattoo covered.  As with the previous point, if you come in with a tan you may be asked to wait until it has faded before we can do the treatment. Make sure to shave the area of the tattoo to be removed, so that it is clean of hair the day before or on the same day of treatment. Pain medications such as Motrin, Aspirin and Aleve are blood thinners and promote bruising, therefore should be avoided 3 to 7 days before treatment. You can take Tylenol instead. After your treatment session, these are the most important things to keep in mind:  There may be slight pain, bruising, redness, bleeding, swelling and/or blistering at the treatment area, which usually lasts 2 hours or longer. The redness may last up to 10 days. An ice pack is highly recommended on and off for the first hour. You may take Tylenol if needed. For the first 24 hours avoid hot steamy showers and harsh or heavily perfumed soaps, cleansers or lotions. Bathe with lukewarm water and treat skin gently. Avoid swimming pools, ocean, saunas and hot tub until treated site is healed. Stay out of direct sunlight, tan beds & spray tans to avoid hypo-pigmentation and hyper-pigmentation. Itching is very common. Try to keep the area dry for first week and then you can apply small amounts of Aquaphor or Vaseline to the treatment area to reduce itching and irritation. Don’t cover the area as it starts to heal, let it dry out & don’t pick if a scab does form as this could leave a scar. You may think that not much has happened to the tattoo after the first treatment.  This is normal as the body takes 4-6 weeks to get rid of the fragmented ink from the tattoo.  Several treatments are necessary and will depend on the age of the tattoo, location on your body, an amount of ink and colors used in the tattoo. It is important that you bring the signed form the first day of treatment....

Tattoo Undo & Veins Too: Laser Tattoo Removals demystified

Most common myths about Laser Tattoo Removal Everyone has regrets at some point in life and regretting getting a tattoo done a while back is no exception, in fact, it is more common than you think! Research shows that 20% of tattooed people have ink regret, and a 2012 study from The Patient’s Guide shows that laser tattoo removal procedures have increased 32% from the previous year. Despite this positive trend in the market, there are a lot of myths and misconceptions regarding tattoo laser treatments. Here at our Tattoo Undo & Veins Too Denver office we want to make sure you have all the facts & truths about tattoo removals, to help you make an informed decision and stop feeling regret for a tattoo you no longer like in your life.   Myth 1: tattoo removals are very painful Everyone has a different pain tolerance but it does not hurt more than getting the original tattoo done. The laser technology feel is described like a rubber band lightly snapping the skin. We use a Zimmer Cryo Chiller application during the entire procedure to cool the skin and keep you as comfortable as possible. We also stand apart from our competition because we offer a topical numbing cream if you have a low pain tolerance.   Myth 2: removing a tattoo leaves a scar With other methods such as dermabrasion that may be true. But with the latest laser technology scarring is extremely rare. The skin may get red, swollen, and may blister. Blisters can get quite large and at times, cover the entire tattoo. These blisters are superficial and will heal beautifully, but may be uncomfortable for a couple of days. If you follow our clear and easy aftercare instructions for post-treatment care, there are even fewer chances of getting a scar. Myth 3: the tattoo won’t remove completely   Unlike some competitors, our clinic uses the gold standard in laser tattoo removal, the Cynosure Medlite C6 Q-Switched Nd:Yag laser with four wavelengths that targets all colors, and our results speak for themselves.  However, due to all the unregulated tattoo inks on the market, complete removal is sometimes a hard thing to predict. The F.D.A. does not regulate tattoo inks and a lot of manufacturers and artists make and mix their own inks. Sometimes these mixes have metals and other foreign additives, for effect. These unknowns are why 100% removal is hard to predict or promise. Myth 4: laser tattoo removal is very expensive Though this procedure may be considered expensive, this is not always the case. The cost of the removal will depend on the size of the tattoo, the colors used, type of ink, the age and the location of the tattoo. We have very competitive service fees plus a permanent offer of $50 off your first visit!   Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most proven method to date for unwanted tattoos. For a free no-obligation consultation contact us today! Things change with time, but Tattoo Undo & Veins Too can help! If you regret having that tattoo for work related issues, because it is no longer relevant in your life or because you need more space for fresher ink, Tattoo Undo and Veins Too is your best option in Denver to remove it!  Debbie and...

Brown Spots? Denver’s Tattoo Undo & Veins Too is your answer!

Brown Spots? Denver’s Tattoo Undo & Veins Too is your answer!

Are your hands, face, arms or shoulders no longer looking radiant and youthful? Brown spots are also called Age Spots or Liver Spots (a curious name since the liver has nothing to do with them). These spots are tan, brown or black and start to show, mostly when as we get older, and mainly in areas that are constantly or excessively exposed to the sun. They may not be harmful or painful, but they surely don’t look pretty either and make our skin and face look untimely aged, weathered and tired. So how does it work? We get our skin color from a pigment called Melanin. UV light accelerates the production of melanin, that’s why when we have prolonged sun exposure we develop a tan to help protect our deeper layers of skin from UV rays. On areas of the skin that have years of frequent and prolonged sun exposure, age spots appear when melanin “clots” or is produced in particularly high concentrations. Skin cells containing excessive concentrations of melanin are excellent absorbers of the laser’s energy whereas normal cells are not, so the laser stimulates your body to eliminate the unwanted excessive pigment while having little or no effect on other tissues with normal skin color. But wait, why do I have age spots if I’m still under 50? It’s true that age spots are more common in elderly people because their skin has been exposed to the sun for a longer time during their lifespan, but this doesn’t mean that younger people can’t get them too, especially if we are exposed to the sun a lot and don’t use proper cover or sunscreen protection. However, there’s no need to panic because at Tattoo Undo & Veins Too we offer you the best and safest alternative to get a great tan without harmful exposure to sunlight: Spray Tanning! Things change with time, but Tattoo Undo & Veins Too can help! If you want to recover that glowing and youthful look on your skin, Tattoo Undo and Veins Too is your best option in Denver to remove those spots!  Debbie and Mark Grillo are certified technicians in the use of laser technology for skin treatments and members of the National Laser Institute of America. I Can’t Stand This Tattoo Anymore!!

I Can’t Stand This Tattoo Anymore!!

Do you have a Tattoo you got a while back, which you are not feeling so happy about anymore?  Has that Tattoo you got 10 years ago faded, gotten blue and lost it’s sharp lines? Are the ideals behind your Tattoo no longer relevant in your life, and you feel the need to cover it up?   If your answer was YES to any of the previous questions then, Tattoo Undo & Veins Too is right for you! We use the best laser technology to date for tattoo removal. Basically what the laser will do is pass harmlessly through the outer layer of your skin to target the tattoo ink. The laser will fragment the ink into smaller components which then will be removed by your body’s immune system. The sessions are usually short lasting only a few minutes, so you will have the ability to fit them in your busy schedule. Most often several treatments are needed 3-10 depending on your tattoo and the inks. Treatment sessions are spaced 5-6 weeks apart.   But, will it hurt?! Most people explain the feeling of the laser similar to being slapped with a rubber band. As we treat the area, we cool the overlying skin with a skin cooling device called the Zimmer cooling system. We cool the skin before, during and after the procedure, reducing the pain while decreasing the dermal temperature. This cooling air makes the procedure as comfortable as possible. We are masters at pain reduction and will stop if need be. Aa topical anesthetic cream can also be requested, but this requires you to come in 45 minutes early (you will want to bring a book or something to keep you occupied during that time).   “I had an old blurry tattoo on my finger that I couldn’t cover with a ring and couldn’t stand looking at it anymore so I went to Tattoo Undo and Veins Too to get it removed. I was surprised by how fast and easy the treatment was, their prices were better than anywhere I looked and their machine was the newest technology which made it fade faster. The technician treated me like I was a personal friend and even called the following day!” – Jaquie   Things change with time, but Tattoo Undo & Veins Too can help!
